Drone Real Estate Photography in Spokane & Kootenai County: Why FAA Part 107 Matters
Aerial photos can show what ground photos can't: lot lines, acreage, water and mountain views, and how close a home is to parks, lakes and town. But a drone flown for a paid listing is a commercial flight, and that comes with federal rules.
What Part 107 is
The FAA requires anyone flying a drone for business, including real estate marketing, to hold a Remote Pilot Certificate under Part 107. A hobbyist flying for a listing without one is operating outside the rules. All Valid Media drone work is flown under a Part 107 license and is insured.
Airspace around Spokane and Coeur d'Alene
Parts of the area sit inside controlled airspace around Spokane International Airport and Felts Field. Flying there legally requires authorization. Valid Media requests LAANC authorization before the shoot where flights are permitted, so the aerials don't become a surprise problem on shoot day.
When drone is worth adding
Add drone when the lot, views, acreage or neighborhood help sell the home. For a standard lot with nothing notable around it, ground photography alone is often enough. If you're unsure, ask and we'll recommend what fits.
Cost
Drone photos are $75 for up to 15 aerial images. Drone video and FPV fly-throughs are quoted together with listing video.
